ArtsaRound's 2026 Art Camp is a pilot program made possible in part by an investment of public funds from the Ohio Arts Council (OAC). The OAC is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally, and economically. Additional support provided by the City of Circleville. The program is designed to help meet growing community demand for extracurricular arts education while giving students access to creative experiences led by local artists and instructors.
Details:
Monday: Logan Elm High School art teacher Kelly Montgomery asks you to expect the unexpected with this unconventional drawing workshop to transform a seemingly ordinary magazine page into a work of art with a hidden scene.
Tuesday: Angela Beavers, owner of local business Creative Chaos, will discuss embellishing the blank pages of a journal using sprays, stencils, stamps, inks & more. Choose a themed junk journal & ephemera book with 160+ images & stickers to further decorate & collage your pages to create an artsy one-of-a-kind journal. Your journal book can be used as a diary, junk journal, scrapbook or doodle book. It’s up to you to create & decorate.
Wednesday: Local artist Chris Lockard will share one of her many styles – espresso: it’s not just a drink anymore. Come ready to get a creative caffeine buzz as you learn how to paint with espresso on watercolor paper.
Thursday: Logan Elm Middle School art teacher Rob Griffith and participants will turn an empty paint can into a pinhole camera. We will then learn about and experiment with using this camera to take photos. We will develop the photos in a makeshift dark room.
Friday: You’ve most likely painted on paper, but have you ever painted with paper? In this class, local artist Jana Kent will show you how to take all different types of hand-painted papers and create a one-of-a-kind collage. You are only limited by your imagination.
